Alex Kent is VP of Research and leads Cala Health’s clinical research, scientific discovery, and regulatory activities. A biomedical engineer with over 12 years of experience in the medical device industry, Alex has published extensively on innovations in neurotechnology and is a co-inventor on over 20 issued or pending patents. Prior to joining Cala, Alex spent over five years at Abbott leading applied research in spinal cord, brain, and peripheral nerve stimulation while also being inducted into the Volwiler Society, which recognizes scientific excellence. Alex holds a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Duke University and a BS in Bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania.
